Cisco IOS Crash When CEF is Disabled and Re-Enabled Pingsta Validated

Bug ID:

CSCdw18371

Resolved In:

12.2(9), 12.2(9)S, 12.2(10)DA, 12.2(14)B, 12.2(15)BW, 12.2(15)BZ, 12.2(15)BX, 12.2(15)ZN, 12.3(4), 12.3(4)T, 12.3(5)B, 12.3(7)XI

Symptom:

IOS crashes at an a fucntion which when decoded resolves to "rsp_ipfib_feature_switch"

Conditions:

This occurred when Cisco Express Forwarding (CEF) is disabled using the Router(config)# no ip cef global configuration command and reenabled using the Router(config)# ip cef global configuration command on a router configured for Resource Reservation Protocol (RSVP) over ATM while data traffic is traveling over switched virtual circuits (SVCs) that are established by RSVP.

Workaround:

Disable Cisco Express Forwarding (CEF) on the device, remove the RSVP configuration from all ATM interfaces by entering the no ip rsvp bandwidth interface configuration command and then reenable CEF by entering the ip cef global configuration command, the ip rsvp bandwidth interface configuration command, and the ip rsvp svc-required interface configuration command.

Solution:

This Cisco IOS software defect is resolved in the following IOS releases and later: 12.2(9), 12.2(9)S, 12.2(10)DA, 12.2(14)B, 12.2(15)BW, 12.2(15)BZ, 12.2(15)BX, 12.2(15)ZN, 12.3(4), 12.3(4)T, 12.3(5)B, 12.3(7)XI
