A Router# show align will report spurious memory accesses similar to that shown below;

Solution:

Spurious memory accesses are reported when Cisco IOS attempts to access the lowest 16KB of memory - a no-go area. This is always caused by a bug in Cisco IOS. This post will be updated when Cisco provides details of the bug fix.
